BATHROOM JUSTICE

An online and offline (Delhi) campaign to promote and enable women's access to safe and clean toilets in workplaces and public places. Our aim is to explore the essential relationship between women and washrooms, highlighting the issues of access, sanitation, menstrual hygiene, and ailments such as Urinary Tract Infection. We wish to bring more solutions in our midst through extensive surveys and a crowdsourced toilet-mapping project which will help women find clean toilets closest to them.

Our activities as part of this project are as follows:

1. Desk research on acess to toilets, policies for sanitation, mediations of gender and diability

2. Field audits of 100 selected public toilets in Delhi

3. Case studies of use and access to public toilets in selected areas of high population density, footfall and commerce

4. Crowdsourced mapping of toilets that are safe, clean and accessible for women and dosabled people

5. Collecting testimonies from women on the move about their experiences and challenges

6. Survey of access to clean and safe toilets for women in workplaces

If you wish to contribute stories, share your experiences, ask us questions, share toilet locations, connect us to organisations in similar fields or just say a hello, please write to Swarnima@WomensHealthLine.in
