Our Response to COVID-19: The Time For Action Was Yesterday

TheaCare is a small company with big dreams, and FemmeCon is central to our identity. After some thought, and with our funders' consent, we have decided to donate 70% of our FemmeCon 2020 Budget to various grassroots organizations working to bridge the gap in Covid-19 Response.

This reduces our capacity significantly, and makes it more challenging for us to operate under the current uncertain circumstances. However, we promise to all our users & supporters, that we will work overtime to keep up the quality of our services. We will definitely pull through, as the world navigates some new realities. If anything, we are even more determined to promote immunity-boosting, lifestyle changes, and preventive healthcare. We are even more determined to empower women, who are the primary caregivers in families and communities, and also the main healthcare decision-makers.

The novel Coronavirus has brought into sharp relief, once again, the stark difference in the way crises affect different classes of people. We have to act now- as individuals & organizations. We have to step up. We have to give as much as we can, without losing much time. We urge all our supporters & followers to reach out to under-resourced communities as much as possible. Ultimately, we will live to fight another day, but the same cannot be said of many others.

So many people have reached out to us, sharing their feelings of anxiety and dread at this time. Take our word for it-- you feel better if you see yourself as part of a larger whole, as playing a role in helping. Unfortunately, the truth is that nothing we do, will actually solve the deep-rooted systemic inequalities. But now is the time to do whatever we can. Anything and everything will help at this point, and we can't underestimate the impact of collective, strategic action.

Now, more than ever, we have to think about inclusive growth in business, as well as in society. The current system has clearly left too many inequities in its wake, and we must do everything in our power to rewire how business is conducted, and how wealth is distributed.

So. Friends, supporters, well-wishers: We urge you to act. We urge you to give.
